Summer might be a
record season for tourism in Italy, with arrivals from
extra EU countries growing up to
4.8% in July and August. According to a survey by
Corriere della Sera and
ForwardKeys, tourist will mostly come from
Australia, Japan and US, but
Brazilians and Chinese will also be massively travelling to Belpaese.
Rome, Florence and Milan are expected to be the most requested destinations, although Catania, Palermo and Venice will be experiencing very promising trends, as foreign visitors will grow +9.6%, +8% and +8% in these three cities. Incoming tourism is encouraged by some new flight connections – think of Flydubai and Emirates, which announced new routes to reach Italy at affordable costs. But it’s the unique combination of natural beauties, historical and cultural heritage, great food and fabulous shopping which makes Italy such special.
When extra EU travelers come to Italy for the first time, they do not want to miss anything. As printed guidebooks are definitely over,
digital and mobile tools are particularly appreciated.
